Spring into Service

How Friendship House Is Growing with Our Community This May

As the days grow longer and the blossoms return to our neighborhoods, May is a time of renewal—and at Friendship House of Christian Service, it’s also a time of momentum.

This month, we’re seeing the fruits of seeds planted long ago: in young lives, family bonds, and our commitment to Christ-centered community development here in South Billings. From after-school enrichment to summer program preparation, May is buzzing with promise.

Each child we serve is a story in progress—and through educational support and spiritual encouragement, we’re helping them write new chapters filled with confidence and hope.

Our after-school and tutoring programs have been a lifeline for many students this year, providing academic support, mentorship, and a safe, nurturing space for growth. As the school year draws to a close, we reflect on the incredible progress our students have made and the ways God continues to work through our staff, volunteers, and generous donors.

Although the school year ends, our efforts to keep kids engaged in their academics remain vigilant.  Teachers at FH ensure a summer full of outside activities, field trips, and play, which aren’t without lessons to encourage growth in core school subjects.  We believe this is the best way for young minds to avoid the “summer slump” fall-off in learning.

While May signals the end of the school year, it’s also the beginning of an exciting new season. Our 2025 Summer Program is right around the corner, and registration is open! Our summer programming will keep kids active, engaged, and grounded in Christian values with field trips, Bible studies, meals, games, and learning activities.  These programs and activities are essential in creating happy, socially adept individuals, which in turn creates a more enjoyable atmosphere where learning and making friends feel like second nature.

We’re recruiting volunteers, sponsors, and prayer partners to help make this summer our best yet. If God is nudging you to serve, we’d love to welcome you into our Friendship House family.

Everything we do at Friendship House is centered on relationships—between parents and children, neighbors and leaders, faith and action. From community meals to family resource counseling, our goal is to be a trusted presence and a consistent source of support in South Billings.  As always, thank you for standing with us as we serve, love, and uplift our community in the name of Christ. This season, may we all be reminded that small acts of faith and service can grow into mighty works of God.  When we serve together, we grow together.
