As summer winds down and we prepare for a new school year, we can’t help but look back in awe at the incredible memories made over the past few months. At the Friendship House of Christian Service, this summer was full of adventure, learning, laughter, and life-changing moments, thanks to the generous support of our community.
Each week, our kids had the incredible opportunity to visit Hope Ranch, where they experienced the joy of horseback riding and the great outdoors. Whether it was brushing down a horse, learning to ride, or simply soaking in the peaceful atmosphere, Hope Ranch became a weekly highlight and a place where confidence bloomed.
Of course, no summer is complete without time in the water! Three times a week, our kids beat the heat at South Park Pool, not just for fun, but also for swimming lessons, helping many children learn vital life skills while building courage and independence.
Our weekly field trips turned into unforgettable adventures. From the interactive exhibits at the Cody Rec Center and the wonder of science and history at the Museum of the Rockies, to the serenity of the Red Lodge Sanctuary, the refreshing waters of the Columbus Oasis, and the exciting splashes at Rose Park Pool, every trip was a new opportunity to learn, explore, and grow.
As we turn the page to a new school year, we are filled with hope and excitement for what lies ahead. Our after-school programming is ready to launch with a strong academic focus, thanks to our integration of Khan Academy. Kids will receive personalized, high-quality academic support tailored to help them succeed and thrive.
But learning doesn’t stop in the classroom. Every other month, families are invited to Family Fun Nights, where we build community, strengthen family bonds, and celebrate milestones together.
One of our most cherished traditions is just around the corner: our annual Dress-a-Child event. Each year, this initiative provides children with new clothing for the school year, boosting their confidence and reminding them that they are seen, loved, and supported.
